The Amelia: Senior Collection Look 1

The Amelia consists of four powerful pieces, each inspired by a pioneer of aviation.

The Amelia Bomber Jacket:

Amelia Earhart was the first women to cross the Atlantic by air, making the fastest crossing on record in 1932. Amelia is a major icon for female empowerment and an icon for pioneers and influences within aviation. Her signature bomber jacket is a symbol for strength for female pilots worldwide.

The Elinor Tie Top:

Elinor Smith received her pilots licenses at age 16. She was soon breaking records, performing daredevil stunts and making headlines as "The Flying Flapper of Freeport." Elinor Smith was also known for flying most of her planes at Roosevelt Fields on Long Island, New York.

The Marvel Pleated Skirt:

Marvel Crosson was Alaska's first female pilot, setting new altitude recored for women. Marvel is commonly photographed in her signature flight jacket and pleated skirt.

The Phoebe Omlie Handbag:

Phoebe Omlie was the first woman to earn a transport license in 1927. In 1930 she won the Dixie Derby Air Race, the first year women were allowed to participate in this race. She was also involved as the private flying specialist for the Civil Aeronautics Authority (CAA) to help the country prepare for World War II, where she was in charge of choosing flight training centers to teach military flyers.
