Translucent Utility: Classification - Dresses
Translucent Utility is a collection focused on the classification of Dresses. This collection is showcased within my senior year portfolio.
Translucent Utility is inspired by the bindings of seams and voluminous shapes of parachutes from the 1930s. The translucent fabrication of the silks and organzas paired with the structured seaming of a utilitarian bodice are transfused together to develop a fluid and structured collection. Throughout the exploration of layering and experimentation of layering floral motifs, these color contrast and prints allude to the severe contrast of delicate and structured fabrics.
